Free 4x6 Postcard Photo Resolution & Crop Checker
Enter the width and height of your photo in pixels. This free checker estimates resolution and cropping when a single photo fills a landscape 4x6 postcard. It runs in your browser and does not need your photo or an account.
Will your photo fit?
Enter dimensions only. Your photo stays on your device.
376 PPI meets the 300 PPI target
About 2% of the photo is cropped to fill the canvas. Aim for at least 1875 × 1275 pixels after cropping.
Schematic crop only; extreme photo proportions are compressed for display. This estimates pixel density, not sharpness or final print quality.
How to read your result
The checker uses the smaller of width ÷ print width and height ÷ print height. It estimates a centered crop that fills the canvas without stretching the photo. Bleed mode uses 6.25 × 4.25 inches; finished-size mode uses 6 × 4 inches.
300 PPI is the resolution target here. A result below 300 means fewer source pixels per printed inch, not an automatic order rejection. More pixels do not guarantee a good print: blur, heavy compression, exposure, and the chosen crop still matter.
The shaded edges show the estimated area removed to fit the canvas. They do not show the additional physical trim of the bleed border. Framed designs, multi-photo layouts, and manual editor crops can differ. Review the final postcard preview before checkout.
Where to find your photo dimensions
Open the photo's information or details panel on your device and look for two numbers labeled pixels or dimensions, such as 4032 × 3024. File size in megabytes is not the same measurement. Enter width first, then height; do not swap a portrait photo's values just to improve the result.
